July 2021 Missions Letter

Back to Church…Again!

We are now able to have in-person church services! We are so grateful to be able to have our services again. All of our services, including our youth group service, and our adolescent group service, are all in-person service. Although we are still limited to how many people can be in a service, we are thrilled that we can meet together.

The Bible College students are serving in each service. They are preaching, teaching, and leading in our services, including the youth and adolescent services! They are not just learning, they are practicing what they are learning in the classes they are taking. One of the young men preached his first message as the offering devotion! This was a huge step for him and he has already preached again!

Discipleship has also started back up! We are seeing people that we discipled who are now discipling others in the church. We hope to see this ministry grow in the coming month! Pray for our outreach evangelism ministry. We have printed new church invitations with a Gospel message on the back and we look forward to passing them out! Thank you for praying for us and this ministry. God is blessing!

Serving Together,

Patrick, Leslie, Lily, Piper, Ivy, and Isla Henry

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the Church as we return to in-person services.
  • Pray for those in the church who have not yet returned.
  • Pray for the five students in the Bible College: Matías, Brian, Eric, Leandro, and Gabriel.
  • Pray for our evangelism and discipleship ministries.

Quick Update: Back to Church!

June 25, 2021 by Patrick Leave a Comment

We had our first in-person service last night since April. It was great to be able to greet everyone and have a real church service! It was a special night because Leandro, one of our young men, preached his first message for the offering devotion. This was a huge step for him. He is starting to prepare for ministry. God is working in him, and we are so thrilled to see it!

Tonight we will return to having our in-person youth meeting. Tomorrow night we will have our first in-person adolescent group meeting. This ministry was being planned out and was just about to be launched when the new restrictions were announced in April. We started the ministry with services online. Tomorrow will be our first actual in-person service! Two of our daughters are a part of this new ministry and our excited to be able to meet in the church with their friends and the youth workers. We are also excited to return to in-person church services on Sunday!

Pray with us that we will be able to continue having in-person services.

Quick Update: Father’s Day Zoom Service

June 18, 2021 by Patrick Leave a Comment

The restrictions are starting to loosen up in Buenos Aires. The announcement the President made last week has since been turned over to the local governments, who are lightening the restrictions. The curfew has been pushed back to midnight, kids are now going back to school, and things are starting to open back up. That being said, we will hold our last Zoom meeting church service this Sunday. Our church family has responded well to going from pre-recorded church services on Facebook/YouTube to the interactive service via Zoom, but we really look forward to going back to in-person services!

This Sunday is Father’s Day. It is a great opportunity to encourage the men in our church to point their families to Jesus with their words and their actions.

Happy Father’s Day!

Quick Update: Restrictions Continue

June 11, 2021 by Patrick Leave a Comment

“A Possible Return to Church Services!!” This was the title of today’s quick update. In fact, I published it on our website, advancethegospel.net and was about to send it out via email. But just as I was about to send the email, we received news, the restrictions have been extended another two weeks. This is not what we were hoping for. The numbers of Coronavirus cases have lowered in the past weeks, but we are continuing with the restrictions. We have been under stricter restrictions since the middle of April and have only been having online church services via Zoom, Facebook, and/or YouTube. Please pray with us that we can go back to “normalcy” and have in-person church services soon.

Even though we cannot have church services in the church, we are still going strong with the Bible College. We have classes each week and have five students faithfully attending. Each of the five are serving in the ministry and in our online services. Pray for their continual growth and preparation.

Thank you for faithfully praying for us!
