October 2017 Missions Letter

Teaching and Training

September is a very special month in the life of Faith Baptist Church! We have been discipling different families within the church each week. This month I asked one of the men in the church to teach the weekly Bible verse. He agreed, we went over the verse together and on Sunday morning (September 17), he taught the Bible verse to the church! This is huge! Up until this point I have been doing everything. For the first time in the history of our young church, someone else in the church did something in the service! This is a landmark event for our infant church!

This month we will be going back to the States for a short 3 month furlough. When we return to Argentina, we will be moving closer to the church and continuing advancing the Gospel and training men. Please be praying for the church as a young Argentine man (David) will be preaching in my absence.

Serving Together,

Patrick, Leslie, Lily, Piper, Ivy, and Isla Henry

  • Pray for David as he preaches at the church each service.
  • Pray as this infant church continues to grow.
  • Pray for our discipleship program and that men will continue to step out by faith.
  • Pray for more souls to be saved.

Quick Update: Learning More and More

September 29, 2017 by Patrick Leave a Comment

One of the great things about Fridays is that missionaries have an opportunity to be a part of a class on missions, church planting, and many other great topics. I was able to attend one of these classes for the first time in quite some time. I enjoyed learning more about the Bible and about missions. I was encouraged and challenged to work harder, train more men, and study and teach the Bible. A friend of mine reminded me a few days ago that we are always learning. I am thankful for the opportunities God has given me so that I can continue to grow and put into practice what I am learning.

OG Summit – Boston

September 26, 2017 by Patrick Leave a Comment

Last week I posted an article about the Our Generation Summit. The Summit has traditionally been held in Gatlinburg, TN. Last year we moved the Summit to north Atlanta to Lake Lanier Islands. This year we are doing something very special. We are going to have two Summits! Our first will be in North Atlanta on December 28-30, 2017. This will be a very special event. We are also for the first time going to have a Summit in the Northeast United States. The Summit will be held in Boston, Massachusetts on January 04-06, 2018 at the Embassy Suites in Waltham/Boston. We will have missionaries that represent many countries, including Japan, South Africa, Colombia, Ecuador, Burkina Faso, India, Argentina, Turkey, Tunisia, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, and Morocco. Pastor Austin Gardner will also be there. Pastor Gardner was a missionary in Peru for 20 years and trained many men and saw many churches planted. This is sure to be an incredible event and of course everyone is invited.

Being in Boston, you will have the opportunity to see different historic sights, including a freedom trail and an American church history tour.

You can find out more about the OG Summit – Boston by clicking here. If you live in the greater northeastern area, this is a great opportunity for your youth group, and your singles ministry, and even for your church to be challenged to get the gospel around the world.

Quick Update: A New Teacher

September 22, 2017 by Patrick Leave a Comment

I have been discipling a family in the church for some time now. They are faithful and are growing in Jesus. I asked the husband if he would teach a memory verse to the church on a Sunday morning (something we do each service). He agreed, we went over the verse together and he taught the verse to the church last Sunday morning! It was the first time we have had someone else in the church do any type of teaching other than myself. This was a landmark moment in our church! We are very blessed to see God working in our young church like this. Thank you for praying for us!
