Quick Update: Restrictions Continue

June 11, 2021 by Patrick Leave a Comment

“A Possible Return to Church Services!!” This was the title of today’s quick update. In fact, I published it on our website, advancethegospel.net and was about to send it out via email. But just as I was about to send the email, we received news, the restrictions have been extended another two weeks. This is not what we were hoping for. The numbers of Coronavirus cases have lowered in the past weeks, but we are continuing with the restrictions. We have been under stricter restrictions since the middle of April and have only been having online church services via Zoom, Facebook, and/or YouTube. Please pray with us that we can go back to “normalcy” and have in-person church services soon.

Even though we cannot have church services in the church, we are still going strong with the Bible College. We have classes each week and have five students faithfully attending. Each of the five are serving in the ministry and in our online services. Pray for their continual growth and preparation.

Thank you for faithfully praying for us!

Restrictions and Growth

We had a Regional Conference last month with missionaries from five countries in South America. The conference was a great blessing to us! The young men training for the ministry preached during my absence. We also had two men each lead a part of our online services for the first time. They both are a part of the Bible College. Each of the men in the Bible College are preaching and teaching the Bible regularly. We also started a new pre-teen ministry last month. The plan was to start the services in the church, but because of the restrictions, we started via Zoom. This ministry is being head up by some of the young adults in our church. They are doing a great job!

We are not clear on how the restrictions will continue through June. We have a men’s meeting and a special Father’s Day service scheduledL, but we are not sure that we will be able to have them. The Bible College will continue as will the online services. Pray with us that God will guide the President to open the country up very soon so that we will be able to meet again as a church. Even with all the restrictions we are under the ministry presses on and we are seeing God bless.

Serving Together,

Patrick, Leslie, Lily, Piper, Ivy, and Isla Henry

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the restrictions to be lifted soon.
  • Pray for the Church as we do most of the ministry online.
  • Pray for those in the Bible College as we continue classes.
  • Pray that we see more people saved and discipled, even during these times with restrictions.

Quick Update: A New Ministry (even though we cannot meet)

May 3, 2021 by Patrick Leave a Comment

We started a new ministry on Saturday. This was planned by some of the young adults in the church. We wanted to start a ministry for the young people attending the church. We have a youth ministry, but we have not had a dedicated ministry for those who are not in children’s church but not yet in the youth group. With the new restrictions, we are not able to have any type of services in the church, but that didn’t stop us from starting this ministry to young people. We had the first service via Zoom. It was a blessing with several young people attending and was organized by the young adult ministry. Pray with us for this new ministry as we continue forward!

Bible College Begins, our 4th anniversary, and a Quarantine…again!

We started the Bible College in April. We have three dedicated students who are training for the ministry with two more who are attending the classes as well! In April we were also going to celebrate our 4th anniversary as a church, but the Wednesday before the service, the president announced that we would be going back into a quarantine the next day. The quarantine will not be as strict as the quarantine last year, but we will not be able to have presential church services. This isn’t at all what we hoped for, but we will continue with the Bible College and will continue with virtual church services until we are able to have the presential services. Brian, one of the young men training for the ministry, was married in April as well. Pray with us for Brian and Ayelen as they begin their lives together serving the Lord!

We had several events planned for May, but with the quarantine, we are not sure what we will be able to do. Even so, we will continue preaching the Bible, worshiping Jesus, training men, and pressing forward the best way we can. There are still many opportunities to serve the Lord and serve others during this quarantine.

Serving Together,

Patrick, Leslie, Lily, Piper, Ivy, and Isla Henry

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the newly married couple, Brian and Ayelen.
  • Pray for the Church during the quarantine.
  • Pray for those in the Bible College as we continue classes.
