A New Year, A New Theme, and the Same Goals

God worked in our ministry in 2020. People were saved, baptized, and discipled, the church grew, young men took steps of growth by faith, and all of this during a year when we were in quarantine more than we weren’t. God still showed Himself faithful! We finished 2020 with strong attendance, a special ladies fellowship, a baptismal service, our annual Christmas service, and a special wedding ceremony as one of the young men who is training to be in the ministry married one of the young ladies in the church! 

We start out 2021 and we hope to be able to start back with our other weekly services, our monthly men’s, women’s, and marriage fellowships, and our Bible College classes. 

This month we will have our vision service, where we will review the blessings of 2020 and look at the new theme for 2021, the goals for the year, and the special events of 2021. It is also a time to share our annual calendar and give away a few special awards and certificates. This service helps set the tone for the year. This will be the highlight of the month of January! Thank you for praying for us.

Prayer Requests

We hope you are having a Merry Christmas with your family and friends! We thank you for your faithful prayers and support. Christmas in Argentina is more like 4th of July in the United States. It is a hot summer day and our family has enjoyed being together outside and inside. It is a blessing for us to be able to enjoy the day and focus on Jesus’ birth and the salvation we have because He came to die for us and pay our sin debt.

This weekend has three exciting events for Faith Baptist Church.

• Our first wedding: Tonight we will have our first wedding of two people (Matías and Micka) who met a result of Faith Baptist Church! There will be a lot of people who are not Christians at the ceremony. Matías and Micka have asked me to share the Gospel. I am excited about this special event as well as this young couple! Please pray for this couple and for those who will be hearing the Gospel for the first time.
• Our Christmas service: Sunday will be the last Sunday before Christmas, and in the past, it has been a very big service for us. Because of all the protocols, we are not able to do what we normally do. We will still have a special service, but we are not able to “pull out all the stops” with invitations and the like. Please pray for this special service.
• A special baptism: Sebastián will be getting baptized this Sunday. Sebastián started coming to the church a little over a month ago. He and his sister have really been growing. His testimony is very interesting, he was saved in January after reading and thinking on what the Bible says about salvation. He did not have anyone to guide him. The Lord has brought them to Faith Baptist Church, and now he will be getting baptized. Pray for this young man has he seeks the Lord and grows in grace.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. We were able to spend time together preparing food, talking, sharing things we are thankful for, and of course eating a lot! I am so thankful that the Lord allows us to serve Him in Argentina. Like in any ministry there are some days that are better than others. Like almost everyone, 2020 was not at all what we were expecting, and yet we still see the Lord work. We are thankful for God’s leading in our lives and we are thankful for you. You are a part of this ministry as you have faithfully prayed and supported us through the years. We believe we serve together, although we are not all in Argentina, we are all serving Jesus together. Thank you for your faithful partnership to advance the gospel of Jesus!
