OG Camp 2017

May 18, 2017 by Patrick Leave a Comment

I have posted blogs about this before and I believe it to be worth the time it will take to read about our upcoming camp. The Our Generation Camp will be held on June 19 – June 23, 2017. Why “Our Generation Camp”?  There are all kinds of camps to go to, all kinds of camps to send your kids to, what makes this camp different? Let me answer this question by first stating that I have been to several different camps.  Our church has put on our own camps for years. We have sent our youth and kids to other camps as well. I went to different sports camps as a child. What makes Our Generation Camp different is the emphasis.  We are all about world evangelism. “Reaching the world in our generation” is our theme! At Our Generation Camp, you will spend time with missionaries. They won’t just preach at you during a chapel or evening service. They will eat with you at the lunch/dinner table, talk with you during the day, spend time with you throughout the week! There will be missionaries from different parts of the world including China, Turkey, Egypt, Burkina Faso, South Africa, and Japan! Although we will not be there (because we are in Argentina), we do believe this will be a wonderful week for all who attend!

Again, Our Generation Camp will start on June 19 and will continue until June 23, 2017. It is held at Sand Mountain Bible Camp in Trenton, GA. The cost is $200. Sign up today!

Whether you are thinking about being a missionary or not, this camp is a time that God will use in your life. To register, please go to the link below and click the “Register Online Here” button.

Quick Update: A Guest Preacher

May 14, 2017 by Patrick Leave a Comment

We have had our friend, missions director, and former missionary in Argentina, Jeff Bush with us here for a week now. He has been a tremendous blessing to us! I have been encouraged and challenged by the time I have had with him. Faith Baptist Church has also been very blessed to learn from his Bible teaching! He will be preaching for us one more time tonight at 6:00 PM. This morning I will be preaching out of Luke 15. We are very blessed with every opportunity God gives us to meet as a church in infant stages. Each service is another opportunity to teach and preach the truths of God!

Jeff Bush will be leaving tomorrow night. Please pray for him as he will have a 10 hour flight back to Atlanta. We are thankful for Brother Bush, and thankful for his wife Mindy and their children who share their husband and father with us and many others.

A Sausage Sandwich

May 9, 2017 by Patrick Leave a Comment

Strange title? I think it is too. Faith Baptist Church is just four weeks old. In these four weeks we have seen many visitors and have already had a few families that are attending regularly (regularly for four weeks). We have started discipleship with a married couple and a also with another man. So, where do we go from here? We are trying to invite more people, and trying to use different promotions to encourage others to come. Our next big event will be a special lunch after the morning church service. We will have “choripan” for all who come to the service. It will be a chance to get to know those who are coming, an opportunity to use this special event to invite others, and an opportunity share the Gospel with many more people. Choripan is a sausage sandwich that is a very popular here. “Chori” is for “Chorizo” and “pan” means “bread”. So “choripan” is sausage-bread or a sausage sandwich. It usually comes with a spread of chimichurri (the most delicious sauce in the world). We are hoping that God will use this to encourage people to go to church.

We have other things coming up through the year. We are very excited to have these opportunities. Whether it is a sausage sandwich, a kids celebration, or a “old fashion” Sunday, we will use every opportunity to preach the truth of God’s Word to anyone who will listen.

Quick Update: A Special Guest

May 5, 2017 by Patrick Leave a Comment

This week has been a great week! We had a few new visitors on Thursday night at our midweek service. We started discipleship with a man and also with another couple. We Have completed a few more things at the church building. While there is always more to do, it is good to see the progress. For the first time in our 3 week-long history, we had a few people that acknowledged they are lost. They have not yet been saved, but the fact that they acknowledged they are lost is very important! We are praying for their salvation.

Tomorrow we are having a guest preacher in. My friend, mission board director, and former missionary in Argentina will be down for the week! I am very blessed to have this opportunity as he encourages our church as well as advises me on the different things we can change, improve, and do as we grow. I am praying God uses this week in our ministry!
