I type this blog post from my home where I have been since March 20. We are under a national quarantine. Only one person per family is allowed to leave and that is only to got to a local store or pharmacy. The military police are out and stopping people to confirm where they live and where they are going. Over 8,000 people have been arrested during this quarantine for breaking the quarantine rules.

Although we are not allowed to hold services that does not stop us from filming are three services per week and sharing devotional thoughts each day. We are also in contact with members and faithful attenders of our church during the week. Two of the young men training for the ministry are a part of each filmed service and are reaching out to the church family as well.

At the posting of this update, the quarantine is scheduled to end on Wednesday, but the news is reporting that President Fernandez will be extending the quarantine, but nothing is official yet. Thank you for praying for us.

Last Sunday was our annual “Levi’s Banquet”. We had a wonderful service with over 60 people in attendance! We  shared the Gospel with many visitors! We had a fellowship afterwards, the Lord blessed and it was a great day!

Last night we had a wonderful mid-week service. We took a part of the service and dedicated it to what the Bible says about faith and fear. While we were in the service the President of Argentina announced that a mandatory quarantine would begin at midnight. We ended the service only to find out that it would be our last service of the month. The quarantine is enforced by the military police. Everyone must stay in there homes with only a few exceptions. As I publish this update, I am sitting on our couch at our home. I would usually be at our weekly Friday night youth night. Our services will be broadcasted online on Sunday. We are also sending out daily messages to our people. This is not exactly what we hoped for, but because of the threat of the Coronavirus it is the way we must do ministry for the rest of the month. Please be praying for Argentina and Faith Baptist Church. This is a great opportunity for us to show our faith to those who are living in fear.

We will have our annual “Levi’s Banquet” this Sunday. It is based on Lucas 5, when Levi (or Matthew) met Jesus. Immediately have meeting Him Levi hosted a large banquet and invited his friends and co-workers so that they could meet Jesus. Each year we host a “banquet” in March where we invite anyone who will come to this special service. After the service we will have a fellowship with empanadas. We have banners hanged over streets, over 3000 invitation have been given out, and many friends and family invited to this special “banquet”. Please be praying for Levi’s Banquet, that we will see people saved!

Back into the Swing of Things

We had a wonderful summer. We ended February accepting new members into our church. Over six people joined the church in February! We also enjoyed the men’s fellowship and the women’s fellowship.

March is when school starts back and when things “go back to normal”. We are excited about the events planned for this month. Our biggest event will be our annual “Levi’s Banquet”. It is a time when we invite others to a special Sunday morning service to meet Jesus. Pray with us that we see people saved! We will also start back with our Bible College this month. The young men who are training in the ministry are growing. It is a blessing to see them serve in the ministry each week. 

The church is to continuing to grow. We have a couple of men that I have a burden for and I know God will use them. Please pray that they surrender and give themselves fully to God. We also have a few other men who are taking small steps in their spiritual growth. Pray with us that God continues to work in this young church.
